CRETE
Crete is the largest island of Greece and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean. The island has an elongated shape, 260 km long from east to west and between 15 and 60 km wide. The coastline is over 1000 km long and consists of both sandy beaches and rocky shores. It is an island full of contrasts. The north coast is the main tourist area of Crete and all big cities are located there.
Crete is divided into 4 prefectures: Hania, Rethymnon,Heraklion and Lassithi.

Welcome to Chania, a beautiful and picturesque city with remiders of the past at every corner. Chania is main town in the west of Crete, with the second largest population after Heraklion. It divided into two parts - the New Town which is where the day to day business of the Chania goes on, with its shops and offices, the post office and banks, the renowned indoor market holds a master place in the center of the city, a brilliant crosshaped building that was completed in 1913 - and the Old Town, built around the old Venetian graphic port with numerous picturesque narrow streets and architecture showing the influence of decades of foreign domination.
